People have so much to say, and very little to show. I believe the reason I was drawn to photography is because I could say and show so much with no words. Anybody can take a photo, but not many can tell a story with a single image. I struggled to understand this concept spending days shooting thinking I had created some great images, but instead ending up with a memory card filled with images that had no real meaning to me. The problem was that I was trying to create things that had been done a million times before, without a authentic or fresh perspective. You don't really have to try too hard, you just gotta mean what you say when you create.
